Our Coaches
Meet Jordan Clinton – our Assistant Riding Instructor.
Jordan started riding at six and had a successful competitive pony career.
At fourteen she proudly represented KZN in the 1m classes, on Cold Castle (finishing an impressive 3rd)
At sixteen, Jordan produced homebred warmbloods and jumped them up to 1.25m.
In 2022, her hard work and dedication were recognised when she received the prestigious Roxanne Baxter Award.
At 18, Jordan joined the Canterbury team as their work rider, producing Brandenburg warmbloods, and developed a passion for coaching.
Jordan has her EQUSA Level 4.
Claire Wager is our specialized Dressage Coach.
Facilities
Jo-Jo’s Riding Centre can accommodate 16 horses, we have a large sand show jumping arena, a round sand ring for beginners.
Our horses are turned out into huge grassy paddocks during the day.
- Sand ring for beginners and lunging horses.
- Large sand school, 75 metres x35 metres, for show jumping and dressage.
- 300m sand exercise track.
- X-Country jumps
Our Grooms
Our grooms – Derek, Xolani, Vusi and William, share a passion for horses and at the same time maintain a high standard of horse care.
The ponies and horses are always immaculately turned out and your groom will be waiting with your horse to help you aboard!
Our head groom is Xolani Lumbe (Eqasa Module 2).
Xolani takes the littlies and has a great rapport with the children he teaches, the youngest rider being 3 years old who is cantering.
In 2018 at the Shongweni Club Showing Championships Xolani won the Victor Ludorum riding Tigger. (Lansig Induna). Xolani came 2nd in 2018 for top Showing Groom Handler in SA for the year.Xolani was chosen for the Solidarity Team in 2022 sponsored by FEI, 2025 will be his 3rd year riding with the Solidarity Team. Claire Wagner is Xolani’s Dressage Coach.
Pony Club Centre
Our core principles and mission at Jo-Jo’s Pony Club Centre are:

We believe these values are essential in developing skilled riders and responsible individuals.

All of our lessons are structured and well planned according to age group and ability.
Outrides
Jo-Jo's Riding Centre is situated in the heart of Summerveld, we are only 10 minutes away from the beautiful rides in the sugar cane.
Pony Camps
Held regularly in the holidays.
Shows
We host our own shows as well as attend local shows. A coach will always be at the shows to help and guide you.
Our School Ponies
Frankie 2
Meet Frankie 2! Say hello to Frankie 2, our gorgeous 6yo and the newest star of the school ponies. He’s an absolute gem, has already dipped his hooves into training shows, and has completely stolen the hearts of our riders. With his sweet nature and eager attitude, it’s no surprise he’s fast becoming a yard favourite. We can’t wait to see what this little legend gets up to next.
River
River Ridge Greystoke, our delightful and impeccably well-mannered schoolmaster. Always kind, always willing, and forever giving 100%, River looks after his riders with the biggest heart. A true gentleman and a firm favourite for good reason
Nemo
Nemo. AKA Winnie the poo, such a dear little horse for beginners.
Gigi
Such an amazing pony, GiGi has brought 5 of our riders through the ranks, always winning and getting into the KZN teams. One in a million pony.
Silver
14.2H grey gelding, Arab X Nooitgedacht. This is one special pony, he floats over the ground making him a great Dressage prospect. Silver also has an amazing jump. He is an absolute darling who just wants cuddles and a little girl of his own to love.
Tigger
15.2H Boerperd. Champion in hand gelding in South Africa, 2018.
Dora
Not only is Dora a reliable school pony but has been competing successfully in Novice Dressage with Xolani Lumbe.
Dream On
Dream On is a very level headed pony who gets on with his work, a very dear pony
Frankie Fox
Frankie joined our stables in 2023. He has been to a few training shows and is coming on well.
Prince Themba
Prince Themba is proving to be a champion. Prince and his rider Jenna where chosen to represent KZN in the Showing Challenge team in December 2022. Prince is an allrounder versatile pony, winning in Show Hunter, Working Riding, Show Jumping, Equitation and Dressage
Flynn
Our newest addition to our Riding Centre. Flynn is a 15.2h Dapple grey gelding. He is a THB X Percheron. Flynn has a gentle and soft nature.
